Beginning in 2005, OctoberSeis started as a way for the O’Neill family of Athy, Co. Kildare to pay tribute to their father Joe O’Neill, a gifted musician and dedicated band leader of the Stardust Orchestra which brought his particular brand of music to almost every dance venue in Ireland from the early 1940’s to the 1960’s.
Joe founded the CBS Brass and Reed Orchestra in Athy which is still going strong today.
OctoberSeis first started in Naas when this gifted family got together with friends and initiated what has proven to be a very enjoyable musical extravaganza of many genres of music. The festival moves annually to areas where members of the O'Neill family live or have strong connections.
2005 – Naas
2006 – Cavan
